Valerie Brennan is an Irish artist living in Paphos, Cyprus. Apart from a decade long hiatus to Mexico City and Madrid, Cyprus has been her home. Brennan has had many exhibitions internationally, including solo exhibitions with Fred Giampietro Gallery USA, the Apocalypse Gallery Cyprus and an upcoming exhibition with Alice Black Gallery London. She has participated in numerous group shows including Kirk Hopper Fine Art Texas. The Torrance Museum of Art, California. The Cape Cod Museum of Art, Boston. She has recently been included in an online group exhibition with Lyons Wier Gallery New York and has been selected for the BEEP 2020 painting prize. Returning to live in Cyprus again has had a humbling influence on her work and choice of materials, looking to the prosaic and handmade for inspiration. She wants her paintings to express her hand in their making from start to finish.
